\u201cPolanie\u201d Polish Song & Dance Association<\/strong> was founded in Calgary in 1977 under the initiative of Krystyna Cichowicz (Siostra\/Sister Alojza).<\/p>

The aim of the group is to present the richness of Polish folklore in a stylized artistic adaptation. Since its outset, the ensemble has developed and established a unique style which has become a recognized landmark in Canada and internationally.<\/p>

Polanie\u2019s highest profile performance would have been the opening ceremonies at the 1988 Winter Olympics. The thing Polanie Song & Dance Association is most proud of is contributing and growing the vision Siostra Alojza started almost 50 years ago. There are currently over 100 people participating in Polish dance in Calgary!<\/p>

Mazovia Polish Song and Dance Association<\/strong> was created by Majka Kowalczyk in September 2015.<\/p>\n

Our main goal is to teach children and teens Polish traditions and culture through dance and song, while also providing opportunities to participate in events that celebrate multiculturalism. <\/p>\n

As we approach our 10-year anniversary as an organization, we are excited to reflect on the significant impact we have made in promoting Polish culture across Canada, the US, and Europe.<\/p>\n

Krakusy Polish Folk Dance Association<\/strong> has been around since 2001, so almost for 25 years.<\/p>

Krakusy is a youth Polish Canadian Dance Association with the mission of cultivating and sharing Polish heritage through song and dance with all audiences, locally and abroad.  We strive to provide high quality instruction, great care, and passion, as well as deepening the love and appreciation for the Polish culture in children, youth, and their families. We continue to grow and develop our skills and community with each passing year. We bring children and youth together in an environment that promotes friendships, respect, hard work, and dedication and enables them to build up their physical, emotional, and mental health.<\/p>

Over the years we have created connections and community between dancers and their families that have lasted beyond the scope of the Krakusy organization. Many of our dancers have built long lasting friendships that continue into their adulthood thanks to Krakusy. Our ensemble has been very fortunate to showcase our culture on local and international stages, enabling us to appreciate other cultures and traditions.<\/p>

Gaiczek – <\/strong>for children from 5 years of age <\/p>\n

Gaiczek is a children\u2019s Polish folk dance group founded in 1971 by Sister Alojza Cichowicz under the direction of St. John Paul II Polish School in Calgary. The group consists of the Polish School\u2019s elementary students and regularly takes part in school concerts throughout the year. Gaiczek exists to promote Polish culture through dance, and also performs at various events in the Polish community in Calgary, including cultural occasions and at the 90th Anniversary of Polish School Gala. The group is an integral part of fostering and showcasing Polish heritage in Calgary. Gaiczek is excited to be performing at this year\u2019s Polish Canadian Heritage Day!<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The Young in Spirit Group (M\u0142odzi Duchem) is a dance group formed in 2008 by the Polish Senior\u2019s Club in Calgary.
The Young in Spirit Group often performs at events organized by Polish organizations in Calgary. The group has also performed across Western Canada: they danced in Victoria, BC in 2015 for the 10th anniversary of Polonia and in 2019 they were invited to Edmonton for the harvest festival.<\/p>\n
