Here, we remember our Polish Pioneers and Veterans. 
It starts with the story of late 19th and 20th century immigration of Polish settlers who comes to Alberta looking for better life. They worked on farms and mining sites in Alberta. Pictures of small churches on the prairies are remind us us where they lived and farmed.
Later, a large group of Polish immigrants arrives in Alberta after the Second World War, including veterans of Polish Armies that fought under Allied Command (the largest being the II Polish Corps that was part of the British Eighth Army), as well as displaced persons sent as slave labourers to Nazi Germany and woman and children (usually family of Polish soldiers fighting with the Allies) who found refuge in Polish refugee camps in such far flung places as today’s Tanzania and Uganda. Due to the Soviet occupation of Poland, they cannot go back to their homeland. Thousands arrive in Alberta with many starting new lives in Calgary. Pictures of some of them are on our remembrance wall with a short biography.
Walls and glass cabinets have original war time documents, for example: demobilization papers, an army driver’s license, certificates with war medals, documents from prisoner of war camps and work permits from German Forced Labour Camps.
There is map of Poland  with its pre-World War II borders, printed in Jerusalem in 1944 that was given to one of the soldiers of the II Polish Corps who brought it to Calgary. You will such memorabilia from army times as prayer books, and Italian and Persian currency which the veterans brought with them as war time souvenirs.
One of the dishes in the glass cabinet has a soil from Katyn, where over twenty two thousand  Polish Officers and others were murdered by the Soviet NKVD on the order of Stalin.
Behind glass cabinets are hung World War II uniforms of Polish immigrants to Alberta.
The picture of the Black Madonna is signed by our Polish Pope, St. John Paul II.

We remember our Pioneers and Veterans. It’s a room full of memorabilia and pictures.

Later and biggest group of Polish immigrants comes after II World War, veterans of Polish Armies under Alias Command, are homeless, can not go back to their own country, thousands of them comes to Alberta, and ends up making living in Calgary. Pictures of few of them are on our remembrance wall with their short live story.
